Protect your online business

Today you can have the idea of creating a website to promote your business and sell your products. There are affordable tools that will allow you to get it with very few steps.

Steps to take for your business

It’s important to highlight several points when you’re creating your business website or if you already have it created:

  • Choose a hosting or your own server to create your website. A web page is basically a folder with files. Today there are content managers that allow you to create dynamic web pages. In the old, the web pages were flat, you didn’t interact with them. Nowadays you can click on like buttons, you can share the content on various social networks, you can create registration forms if you have a company selling products, you can sell products, etc.
  • Integrity and confidentiality of the transmitted data. For your page to be secure, you need to install a certificate authority security certificate. Once this certificate is purchased and installed, the data will go in encrypted form. You can use free certificates like Let’s Encrypt Authority or similars.
  • Terms of Use. As we have seen in a previous thread your website should have in place in a very visible place the privacy conditions of the site, the handling of cookies, etc.
  • Disclaimer. It is also important to add a legal notice becoming clear that the website accepts Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, On the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights. You can download that spanish law from here ->  https://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2018/12/06/pdfs/BOE-A-2018-16673.pdf

Creating your brand

If you create an interactive web page, you will need to have a database that stores information. On that website, the files go on one side and on the other the database would go. Both are linked to each other. If a person does a search on your website, your content manager searches that database for the information and shows it to you.

If you are going to use your own server, a computer in your office that will be the server consider several factors. That computer’s going to have to be on for 24 hours and it’s going to be an expense. You also need to apply additional security measures to keep them from accessing your own internal network. If you hire a hosting it will also come at a price, but it may be more affordable and has additional services.
