To create online content, it is very important the music you put to your creation if you are making a video. Whether for public use or for private use it is very important that the music is free of copyright or you pay royalties if it is copyrighted. A royalty is an amount of money that the owner of an intellectual right must receive when his works are used. This intellectual right does not necessarily have to be in the hands of its creator, because it can be transferred, for example, to a record company so that it can manage the rights and ensure that there are no misuses. An image, a video, a file, has rights of use and it is very important to respect the characteristics of that document.

There is brand protection, for example, which is done to protect on social networks content that belongs to a company. You always have to be legal and not incur in any act that is not appropriate. You might come to this article because YouTube or Facebook won’t let you upload videos. Here you will find free music to use.

Bensound

Bensound allows you to download royalty-free music and use it in your projects. You can use for free in your multimedia projects (online videos for Youtube or Facebook), websites, animations, etc., but you have to give credit to Bensound.com in the description of the video. For example, you must put “Music: https://www.bensound.com“.

If you cannot give credit in this case, you have to buy a Pro license for that audio with which you will get a license certificate to be able to use that music that has a cost of € 34.

Creative commons and licensed music

Many musicians choose to release their songs under Creative Commons licenses, which give you the legal right to do things like use in your videos. Creative Commons is a system that allows you to legally use music, movies, images and other content with “some rights reserved”, all for free. CC offers free copyright licenses that anyone can use to brand their creative work with the freedoms they want it to have. For example, a musician may use a Creative Commons license to allow people to legally share their songs online, make copies for friends, or even use them in videos or remixes.

Several pages publish under flexible Creative Commons licenses. Some examples are:

ccMixter

The ccMixter page, seen in the previous view, is one of the leading communities for music lovers on the Internet. Watch and enjoy on this online and sound effects platform. You can explore the work of others and also share content made by you. If you are interested in making videos that contain the best songs or background sound effects, then it is a platform that will fulfill your intimate desire to generate productive work.

Incompetech

Another page that offers free music to use is Incompetech. The page has several types of licenses such as a standard license for projects where attribution is not desired or is not possible such as radio ads, television ads, commercials, etc. In that case you do have to pay because its use is commercial, more information in https://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/licenses/. In addition, also, and as we have seen above, there is content with a Creative Commons license at no cost.

Shutterstock, music repository

Shutterstock Music is a repository of music clips and sound effects that can be used in videos or any other type of advertising and commercials. It has its own designed library that contains hundreds of thousands of musics and sounds. Rated your search section by mood and gender. Some of the clips are available for free, but most of the data is available for a reasonable price.

Youtube Audio Library

If you are a YouTube content creator, the portal itself has a free audio library to use and with copyright through attribution. You will find it in this direction.  In this case you can choose the genre, mood, duration, what is the type of license, etc.

You can use that free audio track in any of your videos, even the ones you monetize. You don’t have to attribute ownership to anyone. YouTube may indicate who the artist or author is and include a link to the Audio Library in your video, but that’s the least of it, the creator must also have their credit.
